Well Day 3 is behind me, thank god. Yesterday was rough. Not 100% sure why, but I just felt like garbage all afternoon.
I walked again, and that felt great, but as I was leaving work I had the last of the juice I had brought with me, and it just started to turn my stomach. Later in the evening, I was getting hungry and had some more juice, and again, it aggravated my stomach.
I really wanted to go to bed, and broke down and ate some crackers which ultimately calmed my stomach down.

Day 2, continued
I totally forgot to add that I began walking again yesterday. 1.33 miles in 25 minutes.
I was walking fairly regularly last spring, but after Giulia was born I haven't done much. Here's to a new routine.
I also finally had an opportunity to watch "Forks over Knives". If the information presented in this documentary doesn't make you think differently about what you are eating....then nothing will change your outlook.

Day 2
Well Day 2 is in the books.
This is defiantly a true test of will power. I hid out in the bedroom again last night while the rest of the family ate. When I was getting ready to make today's juice, on the cutting board was 1 remaining piece of pizza from the girls dinner....so tempting. I smelled it. It was very tempting, but I put it aside, washed the cutting board, and pulled my fruits and veggies out of the fridge. I'm pretty proud of myself.

BTW, my pants fit better today. :)

Day 1, for real this time.
My first day of nothing but juice was a success. I guess the key is finding a juice you like.
I didn't have any issues with cravings while at work, although there is a box of crackers under my desk that were looking really good, but I never had a craving to open them. Once I got home, it was a little more difficult, Gina was cooking dinner for her and the girls, and the whole house smelled good. I took Giulia into the bedroom and we hung out while they all ate.
I had a mild headache through the afternoon, but it was gone this morning. I've decided to allow myself 1 piece of fruit each evening, this is helping to curb my sweet tooth as well as giving me the satisfaction of chewing something.

Days 1, 2 & 3.
WOW! OK, this is harder than I expected.
Going from never drinking fresh green juice, to solely relying on it all in one day....not recommended.
Saturday was pretty rough, and my juice wasn't the best. I also probably physically over did it as well. By 3pm I had developed a headache, and was going downhill fast. I was ready to crawl into bed for the rest of the night. I caved, and ended up eating Salad and Pizza with Brielle and Gina. The headache never went away, and I ended up waking up at 4am with my head hurting worse than ever....I finally resorted to taking some Aleve.
Sunday I was feeling better by mid-morning, but I was still struggling to get the juice down. I again made it through the day, but ended up eating a salad, and some grilled chicken for dinner.
Monday I was ready to give up. I was having a hard time getting the juice down, it was just foul. Erik just happened text me at about my lowest point. After explaining my issues...he offered to bring me a "Good" drink. OMG, what a difference. What he brought me, I could drink all day long. Erik's wife Stephanie had a boat load of information, and after a hour of chatting with them, I felt much better. I did end up eating dinner last night, but then I made a new batch of pineapple-orange juice, and re-cut the green juice from the night before, and finally, it's drinkable!

It's time for a change!
I've been overweight for over as long as I can remember. It's just become who I am.
3 years ago, I decided it was time for a change, I gave up drinking soda and cut way back on my red meats. I lost 30 lbs that year. Slowly the red meat came back, but I stuck with the soda for about 18 months, and then Pepsi introduced their Throwback products last summer. I tried to limit myself, but that was hard. 4 1/2 months ago a friend proposed a 28 day, no soda challenge. I accepted, and haven't had one since. I've managed to keep 20 of the 30lbs off. That's not even close to enough weight to make me a healthier person.
Although I felt really good getting those 30lbs off, it definitely wasn't my goal. My goal is 225lbs, which would put me at a BMI of just below Class 1 obese, I'm currently in the Class 3 range. I need to drop 18 points.
I've been struggling with having the energy to do things around the house, my back it constantly screaming at me, my knees bother me and overall, I'm just not motivated or focused to do much. I'd rather just stay in bed for the most part. I've been on Blood Pressure medicine since I was 26 and Cholesterol medicine since 28. Enough is enough.
It's time for a change!
A few months ago at work, Julie was telling me about juicing. I honestly thought she was full of it.
Then 2 months ago, Erik decided to start juicing. At first, I told him he was crazy, but next thing I know, he's dropping weight like crazy and he was feeling great. I start thinking there really is something to this juice thing. So I started reading about it. Then I watched "Fat, Sick & nearly Dead". Between the movie and the success I was seeing Erik was having, I've decided I've got to try this.
I went shopping last night, and for the first time, walked in and out of a grocery store and only went to the produce section. That was a weird feeling.
I'm committing to 7 days, a 1 day break followed by another 7. I have a feeling the changes I feel will be enough to keep me going.
